3.  The account of Adam's line, 5:1-6:8

The main theological theme is the problem of sin. Each man ends with death;  it is the universal reign of death.  This calls to mind the serpent's lie.  Situation reveals the intensity of God's abhorrence of man's attitudes and actions.  He felt the bitter anger of someone whose closest friend had been terribly wronged.  There is hope, for Noah is regarded as the remnant.
